You can! This approach is powerful whether you have prior experience with it or not. While we recommend having read the book or attended our Basics “Foundation course” first, if scheduling, time, or other factors do not allow were happy to meet with you and can offer you the support you want personalized to you. We also offer the basics course as private individual sessions.

Yes. It only takes one person in the relationship to use these tools to affect the whole relationship. Often, as in mine, after my partner witnessed the changes in me over time, he then felt inspired and wanted to participate in the work himself. Either way your life and relationship will improve even if you are the only one using it!

Nonviolent communication is very therapeutic. Although we are not technically licensed therapists, our training encompasses nuanced psychological and interpersonal learning that our participants get expansive insight and growth from. Our work heals deep trauma as well as improves practical day to day conversation skills for many. We’ve had many clients exclaim how this work has been more helpful to them than any counseling experience they’ve had.

Yes. We have found that it adds to the ease, flow and effectiveness of the group if everyone comes in with the same basic Foundation of learning that they are then there to practice. What if you have taken a different Basics course elsewhere? We have found that Basics course very greatly from one trainer to another. When we’ve had people come having been trained elsewhere we find that they sometimes have a very different understanding of the work, again which can be distracting or destabilizing to the group. If you are unable for any reason to attend our Foundation Course first, you may contact us at: rosecitynvc@gmail.com to discuss your options.

Not currently, but we plan to have one soon! Stay tuned, we’ll announce it in our newsletter. You can also check back on our website anytime.

Yes, we do. We delight in offering these skills to any organization that would like to improve communication, collaboration, effectiveness, and ease in the workplace and within their teams. Check out our organizational trainings page

We cherish our time with teachers and staff because of their direct impact on the young, formative lives. The more schools we can share this with, the more peace & hope ripples out!

We recommend missing a maximum of 2 classes of any of our 8-week courses, though we’ve had people miss up to 3 and get a full experience. We send out a detailed description of what we did in class that night and are available for any questions. It’s ultimately up to you.

Our classes are not automatically recorded. We send out a detailed description of what we did in class that night and are available for any questions. If you know the night you’re going to miss you may request that night be recorded for you to view.

Yes. We’ve implemented nonviolent communication to act as a bridge between family members, reuniting them after up to 40 years of silence. We look forward to helping you repair any of your relationships.

Yes. We offer personal customization of every aspect of your experience to best suit your needs.

We offer this work to anyone who chooses it. As long as there is willing consent from the party, we are happy to work with all ages. Typically, we work with parent and child, however we address each situation individually to find creative strategies to best meet the needs of all parties involved. My experience is that children are very receptive to this work that embodies groundedness in feelings and needs.
